Air Quality Filtration

Air Filters and Air Filtration Systems

  • Air Filtration Slide 1

Without proper air filtration systems we can be exposed to a lot of things we probably shouldn't be breathing in, which can make us sick or simply lower our immune systems. While we can't control the quality of the air we breath while we're outside, we can keep the air inside our home fresh and clean. The first step is understanding the dangers and learning about different air filtration systems.

Is Air Quality Important?

In San diego, air filtration systems are becoming more of a priority in residential homes. The reason is, the air inside your home can be up to 10 times more polluted with things like dust mites, pollen, mold, pet dander, and chemicals from cleaning supplies and building materials. This bad air isn’t something you can see but it can be the cause of allergies, lowered immune systems, and bad odors.

Outside Air

To some the easy solution is to open the windows and let the fresh air in, but this isn’t always a great option. In spring the air is full of pollens and allergens and summer can bring fires and polluted air. In all seasons the temperature and humidity outside may not be ideal. So can you have fresh clean air without compromising indoor comfort and energy bills? Yes.

Air Quality Solutions

The solution involves taking time to look at air filtration systems, are they really effective? Like most things, air filters have different levels of effectiveness and in general the more you invest in a higher grade filter the better it will perform. Because every house has different air quality requirements we carry a multi-product approach to indoor air quality. We look at the challenges your specific home presents and provide just what you need. The “right tool for the job” so to speak.

MERV or Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value is a rating given to all air filtration systems based on their ability to remove particulates from the air, both type and size. As you can see from the diagram the higher the MERV the more effective the filter is.
